Abu Dhabi Golf Club has been described as “an oasis of tranquility carved out of the desert”. Even so, it is conveniently located just a 15-minute drive from downtown Abu Dhabi. Offering 27 holes of superb golf, the course was designed by Peter Harradine and opened to the public in 1998.
Home to the annual Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championships, a European PGA Tour event, the Abu Dhabi Golf Club is perhaps best known for its enormous, iconic clubhouse, built in the shape of a falcon perched on a golf ball .
The 7,334-yard course is managed by Troon Golf and features rolling greens, as well as more than 90 bunkers. In the past, it has been ranked among the top 100 courses in the world by Golf World magazine. Saltwater lakes and artful plantings, in the form of date palms and ornamental trees, give the course an oasis atmosphere.
