Rich in heritage the Dubai Desert Classic was born in 1989 and is regarded as one of the DP World Tour’s most historic events. It has helped to pave the way for golf’s presence in the Middle East and has created some of the most iconic moments in recent history.
When you’re not watching McIlroy and co battle for top prize, you’ll test your skills at four of the top golf courses in the UAE and tee it up with the epic Dubai city skyline as your backdrop. All this, while based at the sumptuous five-star Park Hyatt Dubai.

Staged at Emirates Golf Club, the tournament is fondly referred to as the ‘Major of the Middle East,’ because of its legacy and world-class field that it attracts every year. Since its inception the tournament has continued to innovate year-on-year with an impressive indoor and outdoor hospitality facility to complement Dubai’s perfect climate in January. The field for 2023’s Dubai Desert Classic included Open Champion – Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood, Francesco Molinari and of course the eventual winner – Rory McIlroy.
Away from the golf action, the tournament offers a range of attractions, food options and entertainment.
We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Shangri-La Dubai for a “Welcome to Dubai” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Dubai’s World’s largest shopping mall, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Walking: light.

Fans and families can look forward to experiencing world class golf and the best of Dubai at this year’s Tournament Town at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
This year’s fan village will provide free outdoor fun for you and friends or all the family, with live music and performances throughout, while young golfing fans can look forward to witnessing the thrilling roaming acts featuring stilt walkers, magicians, graffiti artists and more. Enjoy the music and F&B offerings until late outside with friends as part of your weekend plans.
